Body Mind Centering (BMC) is an embodied and integrated approach to movement, body and conciousness.
Body Mind Centering is an experiential study of anatomy, physiology, psychophysical and developmental principles (including embryology). BMC offers guided explorations through movement, voice, touch and mind into how we feel ourselves through our senses, our anatomy and physiology, as well as our embryological and developmental movement history. We may find a sense of how these shape our sense of self, our experiences of our environment and our relationships. The specific focus and differentiation can help us to shift awareness, to re-pattern and to integrate.
Body Mind Centering was developed by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen who says “The mind is like the wind and the body like the sand: if you want to know how the wind is blowing, you can look at the sand.”
Kat is a BMC somatic movement educator.
